When my class adviser told me that I'll be attending a seminar on a Saturday all-day, I thought twice. I had been so busy this week and all I wanted to do was to rest on a Saturday. But since, I am the class president, I had to come. No choice.
All I thought was, it was gonna be a boring one or just a typical seminar wherein sleeping is the best thing to do. But man, I was so wrong! The seminar turned out to be one of the bests I've ever been to! Yup, I attended a seminar which mainly talked about a child's rights as well his responsibilities and duties as a citizen.
It was handled by our Guidance Counselor, who is also a teacher who's very close to my heart, Ma'am Noliza Pararuan. The first lecturer was her husband Mr. Arcie Pararuan. I was so suprised. They both have the same passion when it comes to God and bringing people on the right path.
The highlight of his lecture was sharing these 3 topics: Profile of the young, Ego Extension and Values clarification. Each topic was exerted very well.
He also shared these words of wisdom that will surely help me/us. I learned that every God's creation is to be treasured and respected.
•For every actions we make, we attach a personal meaning.
•Behind every decision we make indicated by a value.
•There is nothing better to be accepted for who you are.
The second lecturer was Scihi's favorite, I must say, Mrs. Sherry Joy M. Yrigan. She shared all about Behavior Management and how to act our age. She said that there's always a purpose for everything. And that, all the people are good. But the thoughts, words and motives become the bad.
She also shared the ABC's Behavior Management:
A-Antecedent
B-Behavior
C-Consequences
6 life skills to learn:
•Attachment
•Self-Regulation
•Initiative
•Problem solving
•Respect--(I have unique gifts and challenges and so others). True enough.
The last speaker was my Grade 7's Filipino teacher's daughter, Ma'am Helen Wycoco. Her daughter is a lawyer, Atty. Zeya May D. Wycoco. Gosh, she's so beautiful.
She introduced us the laws and the things we needed to avoid for us not to humiliate ourselves and our parents. Now, seriously, I am so afraid to do a bad thing after that seminar. LOL.
